ExtraTerrestrial Technologies Corporation Awarded New Mexico Science & Technology Business Startup Grant
Bernalillo, NM — Dec. 11th, 2025 — ExtraTerrestrial Technologies Corporation, LLC (ETTC), a New Mexico–based aerospace technology company founded with the mission of developing in-space rescue and safety technologies to enable the future rescue of humans anywhere in the solar system, has been selected by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) to receive a FY2026 Science & Technology Business Startup Grant. ETTC was awarded $45,000 as part of the state’s expanded support for high-growth science and technology ventures.
EDD announced 19 awardees across four priority sectors—advanced computing, advanced energy, aerospace, and bioscience—more than doubling the number of prior-year recipients. ETTC was selected within the Aerospace category.
The grant will accelerate ETTC’s work on NovaGuard, an early-stage fire detection and safety platform designed for confined and mission-critical environments. The system is being advanced to validation over the 12-month performance period. NovaGuard represents one building block within ETTC’s broader long-term vision: an integrated suite of technologies that support human safety, survivability, and rescue in space—capabilities essential for the next era of off-world exploration and settlement.
Specific technical elements of NovaGuard remain confidential as ETTC prepares provisional intellectual property filings and engages with regulatory and research partners.
